Two historic sights of Toulouse were added to the list of UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites: the Basilica of St. Sernin and the Canal du Midi. Great waterside

The city is like a junction between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, being linked by the Canal du Midi. The canal is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site. Not only residents of Toulouse, but tourists also enjoy cruising, cycling and strolling along the river banks. Picnicking with friends or simply sitting on the benches near the river is surely a relaxing activity.

Toulouse – the “Pink City”

Toulouse is nicknamed the “Pink City” due to the fact that almost the entire city was built using bricks and tiles known as “foraine”. These are characterized by the warm colors of pink and orange. The “Ville Rose” (“Pink City”) is famous for its architectural colors, being very attractive among tourists.

The city never sleeps

The city of Toulouse houses numerous events. We can say that the city never sleeps. Toulouse Plage is a great event occurring during summer months. It attracts numerous visitors. The Toulouse d’Été is another great event offering several music concerts. For the lovers of sports Toulouse can offer numerous rugby matches. As for the evenings, one can enjoy romantic walks among the illuminated monuments of the city.
