Paris is with no doubt one of the world’s leading tourist destinations. It is a fantastic romantic city, a must-visit for the lovers of art and culture. The historic city owns some of the best-known landmarks of the world. The Eiffel Tower, the famous Louvre Museum, the iconic Arc de Triomphe and the Notre Dame Cathedral are just some of the most visited sights of the city. I have already presented you several landmarks of Paris. Below I will present you some of the most iconic monuments of Paris, including the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, the Panthéon, the Les Invalides and the Palais Garnier. The Arc de Triomphe

As one of the main monuments of Paris, the famous Arc de Triomphe stands at the center of the Place de l’Étoile. This popular monument commemorates the victories of France and honors those who died in battles. Located at the western end of the Champs-Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe is one of the most photographed monuments of Paris. The neoclassical arch is very popular among tourists.

The Eiffel Tower

With no doubt the best-known landmark of Paris is the immense Eiffel Tower. This fascinating monument is worldwide famous. The iron tower, located on the Champ de Mars, is among the most visited tourist attractions of Paris. Every tourist wants to get on top of it in order to have a gorgeous view over the city. If you visit Paris, don’t miss this fantastic landmark.

The Panthéon

I am sure that you’ve already heard about Paris’ Panthéon. The Panthéon was originally built as a church. It is a beautiful early example of neoclassicism. Its façade was modeled after the Pantheon in Rome. Today it functions as a secular mausoleum. Not only the exterior, but its interior is also very attractive. It is absolutely worth visiting it.

Les Invalides

Known as L’Hôtel national des Invalides, the monument is another famous landmark of the city. It is a complex of buildings, including museums and monuments. The Baroque monument is a fantastic landmark of the city. Built during the 17th century, the Les Invalides is a very prestigious monument. You can find it on the Avenue de Tourville. Don’t miss it!

The Palais Garnier

Being a masterpiece of theatre architecture, the beautiful Palais Garnier dates from the 19th century.  The Palais Garnier was built by Charles Garnier, being inaugurated in 1875. It was the thirteen opera house to be found in Paris. Located on the Place de l’Opéra, it is open for visitors.
